I shall now attempt to start a geektastic meme.

When you see this, quote Monty Python. If you hate Monty Python, when you see this, please quote your favorite Britcom instead. If you hate all Britcoms without exception or moderation in degree, quote something you do find funny.

Well, I'd just like to say that I hope very much you don't have to take away my freedom. Because... well,m'lud, because freedom is a state much prized within the realm of civilized society. It is a bond wherewith the savage man may charm the outward hatchments of his soul, and soothe the troubled breast into a magnitude of quiet. It is most precious as a blessed balm, the saviour of princes, the harbinger of happiness, yea, the very stuff and pith of all we hold most dear. What frees the prisoner in his lonely cell, chained within the bondage of rude walls, far from the owl of Thebes? What fires and stirs the woodcock in his springe or wakes the drowsy apricot betides? What goddess doth the storm toss'd mariner offer her most tempestuous prayers to? Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!

-- from the Cardinal Richelieu sketch

I thought about making it "quote Fawlty Towers" but writing "it's been trodden on" just doesn't get the point across.

You asked for it!

"Your majesty is like a stream of bat's piss. You shine out like a shaft of golden light when all around is dark." That's Monty P, tho cannot tell you which sketch!

Re: You asked for it!

But I, as a Huge Gee (tm), had to google it to find out... it's a sketch about Oscar Wilde and several other Society Wits attempting to top each other with epigrams.

Thank you for playing!

Have you read my parody on modern literary criticism using MP and the Holy Grail? It's here. That's my Python for the day. :)
