MA exams over.

As I was telling [livejournal.com profile] glimmergirl on the phone, I had always imagined that I would walk out of the room either ecstatic (done! donedonedonedone!) or an emotional wreck (fuck! fuckfuckfuckfuck!). I also entertained the possibility that I'd leave the room and pass out. As it was, however, I just walked out. Went outside. Called Glim. Went to see my advisor to show her that I survived. Called Glim back. Walked home. Ate crackers. Talked to my parents. Watched the last episode of Tipping The Velvet. Ate some more. Watched the extras, such as they are. And here I am.

It was, without doubt, the fastest four hours I've spent in a very long time.

Maybe tomorrow morning I'll realize that it's over. Nothing left to go but the paper that I already have outlined.

I walked out ecstatic from mine. Then I was a fuck!fuckfuckfuck!case when I was informed a week later that I'd have to retake a section because neither of the faculty members grading that section had read any of the books I discussed.

Like that's my fault? They weren't that obscure.

When do you find out the results?

Gah! Retake them because your committee is full of idiots? That's horrendous. My committee has had the reading list in hand for several months, so if they don't know the authors I cited, it's their lookout. I suppose they might make it mine, though I hope not.

I hope to know by the end of next week, but I don't think the department secretary circulated the responses to the committee yet, so it might be longer.

That sounds like how I felt upon turning in my senior thesis. It does take a while to sink in. Meanwhile, relax and enjoy.
