OK. So. In rough order, stuff I loved:
- Amy and Rory being all domestic
- Amy tracking the doctor through time
- The invitations
- River. Especially with a six-shooter, but also slapping the Doctor and driving the TARDIS and... everything. Just everything.
- The picnic.
- The Doctor's straw that makes things extra fizzy.
- Jim the Fish. I hope we never find out what Jim the Fish is.
- AMY RORY AND RIVER TEAMING UP ON THE DOCTOR <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
- Mark Sheppard, changing up his "random British-accented guest star on US shows" with a go as "random American-accented guest star on British show." Though I know from one of the iTunes extras (as well as the visual evidence) that they did film in the US Southwest, clearly no American actors were harmed in filming. Which I find more charming than otherwise.
- River and Rory together! A thousand hearts.
I started off very, very unconvinced about the whole device of the death of the 1100-ish-year-old Doctor, but the part about Amy and Rory and River needing to keep 909-year-old Doctor in the dark about his future did a lot to resign me to the Death Plot. Still, I do find "The Doctor Dies For Reals No Regeneration" a bit annoying because for Doylist reasons I can't IMAGINE that there won't be a way around it. That's a pretty minor quibble, though.
