Yesterday I called in sick in order to KILL THIS COLD DEAD. I'm going to see my terminally-ill grandmother this weekend and GERMS ARE NOT INVITED. Towards that end I lay around rereading favorite fic and drinking:

3 mugs echinacea tea
4 mugs Jahe Wangi ginger drink (using half a packet of mix for each cup)
1 mug garlic tea (peel and chop up clove of garlic, put in bottom of mug, cover with boiling water & let sit for about five minutes, mix in honey, lemon juice, and cinnamon or cayenne, fill up with more boiling water and let sit until cool enough to drink.)
4 glasses of water
1 mug hibiscus-lavender tea. (The co-op sells dried food-grade hibiscus and I had a bag of edible lavender at home. Mix them 1:1 in a tea strainer, pour on boiling water, steep to desired strength.)

I also took pseudafed and generic mucinex, to keep the full ears and gunky chest from becoming more so, and ate some EXCELLENT tom yum soup.

Any recommendations for cold-busting beverages? And/or other remedies?
