[livejournal.com profile] breadandroses, about that "sexiest person alive" thing... I wish to add another candidate. Refer to the icon depicting Stephanie Romanov, best known as the evil lawyer Lilah on Angel.

guhhhh.....

Ahem. Right. Anyway.

I didn't make all that much progress with my to-do list over the weekend, though the pressing items of food shopping and bill-paying were addressed. The overdue correspondence is still overdue, my kitchen still desperately needs sweeping, and my little knitting project is still stalled for want of yarn. I did, however, finally cancel my old cell phone and get down to Badger House to see how the kitchen is moving through the throes of reincarnation. (As GreyhoundLiz says, it currently looks like Sarajevo circa 1995.)

Anyway, as it appears that once again I am the only one to have read the book for book club, I am oddly unmotivated to make much of an effort at playing Goddess of the Domestic Sphere.

(For some reason that epithet reminds me of going to see Mrs. Brown with Liz years ago, and hearing a party behind us go into hysterics when someone on screen proposed a toast to "Victoria Regina" After the lights came up, Liz and I actually made so bold as to explain to the other folks that it was, in fact, her proper Latin title and not an anotomical comment.)

I did make some garlic-lime soup with lovely fresh garlic and tomatoes from one of the organic farmers at the market. I think I should have cooked the garlic a little longer before adding the broth, and definitely I should have adjusted the amount of lime juice for the fact that I was using key limes rather than the ordinary sort. (They were so tiny and cute, though! And a better deal at Trader Joe's! And... were insanely time-consuming and messy to juice!)

Finally, a highly amusing quizzy thing:
