I hit my current favorite used bookstore this afternoon, and came away with Possession despite several statements of non-enthusiasm, as well as a nice paperback copy of The Daughter of Time and a copy of Traitor's Purse by Margery Allingham. The Daughter of Time is one of those books that I like to have copies of on hand for gifts or indefinite loan. Last fall the local independent bookstore had copies of Anne Lamott's Travelling Mercies for $4, and I got three - one for me, one for Eprime, and one extra because it's just that kind of book.
I'm at Uncle P and Aunt L's, babysitting... DA and NK are safely in their bunk bed, DA with the sheet pulled over his head. They had much running around today, and so fortunately did not run me ragged. We walked around the corner to get pizza for dinner, then I cycled them through the bath, we watched a bit of the crocodile hunter on Animal Planet (CROIKEY! Innit it GOOR-jus!) and I tucked them in. NK stalled a bit, but dropped right off.
