Am I a plebian, insensitive cretin because I like air conditioning?
E and her girlfriend hate it... too dry, gives them headaches, is unnatural & bad for the environment etc. My dear
glimmergirl finds it too cold, and just now my boss, the lovely J, was complaining about how claustrophobic AC makes her, and how she'd rather wake up hot and sticky than cold. And the new student worker was complaining about how cold it is on the bus.
Now, I really like ac. Especially when/where I'm sleeping. I have a very hard time sleeping without at least a sheet over me... I feel too exposed to relax. And when it's 90+ degrees and 80% humidity, having even a sheet over you is pretty rough, I find. I like the dry. I like the cold. Of course, I liked Wisconsin winters too, when I lived there, for the same reasons of 'dry and cold.' Once shoveled, the sidewalks stayed clear, and the snow stayed and looked pretty, and I could tramp vigorously from place to place and feel invigorated rather than devitalized.
