DAMMIT, ADDIS. That "I participated in a major cover-up" is not come-back-from-able and you don't know Foyle at all if you think for a moment that it might be. The cover-up in "The French Drop" was as far as he could stretch and that was only dealing with one death due to incompetence, not nine deaths due to unacknowledged enemy infiltration.

Laughed out loud when Sir Slitheen Alec was all "you went alone? you might have been killed!" and Foyle made a face of "while that was, technically, a possibility, as it is anytime anyone walks out the door... naaah, wasn't going to happen."

Foyle in Miles' death scene. Wibble.

Hilda = completely in love with Sophie Corrigan, y/y? Sublimating it into her work liek whoa, of course, but completely in love all the same. That drowsy smile as she lay in her hospital bed... taking Sophie's bag as they got in the car...

Sleepy bedroom Sam with her hair down is delightful. Yay to her finally doing a successful solo op.

Of course I melted at how Foyle went all quiet and clipped with repressed emotion when Sam asked him to be the godfather to little Baby Wainwright (who, if male, is OBVIOUSLY is going to be named Christopher, duh.) His squooshy faaaaaaaace, oh my heart.

Also, I need to note that the 1662 Book of Common Prayer charge to Godparents is as follows:

Priest: Dost thou, in the name of this Child, renounce the devil and all his works, the vain pomp and glory of the world, with all covetous desires of the same, and the carnal desires of the flesh, so that thou wilt not follow, nor be led by them?
Godparents: I renounce them all.

Sam might well have followed her request by saying, as Sherlock Holmes once said to Dr. John H. Watson, "I never met a man more eminently fitted to represent one."
